How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young, a place near your altar, O LORD Almighty, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you. Psalm 84:1-4

Friday
30Oct2009

Hello there!

It’s Friday again ~ time to think over our favourite moments of the week

and join with Suzanne and the gang

for

1. Hooray! We've had more sun this week.

Blue sky is definitely a favourite.

2. Apple-picking on a sunny day.

Apples for eating fresh, applesauce, crisps, cakes and pies. Sweet!

3. Fall hikes with a great walking partner ~ Sophie!

She loves to run,

so posing for a picture is quite a test of patience and obedience.

She's such a good dog.

4. Sarah and the kitties are a little easier to capture on film.

Kitty love!

Kitty in the late afternoon sun.

5. Goldengrove Unleaving ~ the wind is dancing with the leaves this week. The maples have lost almost all their scarlet, burnt orange and amber finery. The birch, poplar and oak are adding their yellow and russet brown.

But we're not grieving too much around here.  Hiding in the piles of fallen leaves is all part of autumn fun too!

There are still a few trees holding on. This oak tree, that my beloved planted over 20 years ago, shines golden in the evening light.

Golden Oak (click to enlarge)Hope you are finding time to savour autumn's golden beauty this week!

Thanks so much for joining me today.

Many blessings!

with love,

Your photo's are just so beautiful. I love the first one and the one with your dog. Now that is obedience.
Again you must live in a beautiful place - so pretty.
Happy weekend to you too.

Love all the pictures! The leaf against the deep blue sky is a favorite! And Sarah and the kitties is just adorable...both of them! :) We are losing all our leaves here also. Just like you said, they have lost their golden finery! Always love your pictures!
Beautiful pictures. I love that first one with the single red leaf against the blue sky.
To answer your question my husband loves waterfowl hunting the best. He is headed out goose hunting in a cornfield. He is carrying his duck blind, a couple of bags of decoys and his shotgun. He does deer hunt but the season hasn't really started here yet.

I'd like to borrow one of your kittens to cuddle with just for a day.

Love the photograph of the leaf against the blue sky! More importantly, I love how to collect items of beauty through a camera lens. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for letting us see a glimpse of your golden world. And please stop posting photos of kittens. You're making it verrrry difficult for me to resist visiting the shelter and coming home with armloads of them.

That red leaf is incredible. And apple.
What a sweet dog! I really miss my dog that died this summer, but not ready to start over just yet with a puppy.
You have really captured the beauty of autumn. Wow. Lovely pictures.

I am thrilled to see autumn through these photos since there is not much 'autumn' going on here. Love the kitties!

Don't you just love the colors of autumn? And I love how you captured the exuberance of Sophie as she was running. You may tell her that she looks quite "distinguished" when she does pose.

Hi Kathie,
Oh! your photos are all so pretty I wouldn't know which is my favorite but the one of Sarah is pretty awesome. I have been kind of busy so I missed a few days but I enjoyed catching up. That cake looks really good-I will have to try it out.
We still have some garden clean up to do so I hope the weather stays nice. We are hoping to go to Maine for a few days soon.
Take care,
Carolyn

I really like the single red maple leaf and then one of the oak at the bottom. Well, I like them all, but those are my favs. You could enlarge and frame these fall pics for a grouping. So nice.

Your animal shots are just adorable. My very favorite is the one of Sophie in action, tongue flapping in the breeze. Priceless.
