FFF ~ thankful

Time to say thank you for all your blessings ~ little or big! Join with Susanne and all the Friday favers as we look back over the week with grateful hearts.
1. Canning Success! You'll be relieved to know that there were no tears in the kitchen :) My crabapple jelly gelled perfectly. And it's delicious! 
I forgot to take a picture of the final product but I'll post it with my yummy biscuit recipe next week. Along with the raspberry trifle recipe - I haven't forgotten!
2. Garden bounty 
We have loads of cherry tomatoes and Roma tomatoes.
Quite a few are still green -I'm hoping they'll ripen on the vine.
My green pepper plants are loaded too - we've been eating them in salads and stir-frys.
I brushed these tomatoes with a little olive oil, sprinkled with salt and pepper and roasted them.
They were so sweet!
Then I popped them in the freezer.
They'll be lovely in sauces or casseroles this winter.
3. A new hobby to explore with a new to me sewing machine ~ $5.00 in the 70 mile yard sale! And it works perfectly. If only I knew how to use it :). Sewing tips welcome! 
4. My hunting men ~ Roger, Robbie and James heading out before sunrise on opening morning. They had a great time together!
5. A cosy warm house on a blustery day.
Yes, those are leaves plastered on our window. We had winds over 100km with record rain fall the past few days. There was even a bit of wet snow. The sun was struggling to break through the clouds in this picture but it only lasted for a few minutes. then we were back to stormy weather.
So surprising, when only last Friday we had 25C and a lovely swim!
And apparently, tomorrow the temperature is supposed to go back up to 20C - so lovely for our Thanksgiving celebrations.
With that in mind, I want to wish a very Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends!
And to you all, thanks so much for taking time to visit today.

Roasted tomatoes then frozen.....I've never thought of doing that! I freeze tomatoes that are going soft to use in cooking, but roasting them first sounds like a whole lot more flavor! Thanks for the tip!
No sewing tips from me, sorry.......I am not on speaking terms with a needle and thread - especially on a machine!
Well, your guys look very happy to be going out into the cold morning. I hope all the gunshots I'm hearing early every morning are coming from fellas who are having as good a time as yours seem to expect.

Opening Day... oh boy!
About the sewing....click on "beginning sewing" over at You Tube. Amazing things there.
Your leaves are pretty. Ours are almost gone.
I love to sew, you can really lose yourself in it. I hope you learn quickly and can enjoy it as much as I have.
What an awesome deal on your new-to-you sewing machine. What is your first project going to be? I don't have any tips either. I have fond memories of making flannel pajama costumes for my kiddos for Halloween. Maybe someday soon I will pull out my machine.
Thanks for the idea of roasting tomatoes and keeping them in the freezer until needed. Now I wish I had taken more tomatoes from my friend's garden.
We had absolutely beautiful weather in the Cape Ann/Gloucester/Gordon College area this past weekend....and now that we're home, it is beautiful with very mild temps here in the town I live in just north of Albany and south of Saratoga Springs. I love this weather! Your faves all look great...especially that produce.....happy harvesting!!
